Valentine Crazy

I've gone Valentine crazy. OK, so I didn't have far to go. I made two more e-books this week. Now I'm ready for a new holiday.

What's next? St. Patrick's Day? Gotta check my callendar.

New patterns

It feels soooo good to be back to designing again! The holidays were fun but I'm glad to be back at work. I've been making some designs for Valentine's Day. In the "Be My Valentine" book I have little hearts you can use as sun catchers, patches to sew on jackets, etc and you can hang them on your Valentine's Day tree. WHAT??? You don't have a Valentine's Day Tree? Cut a beautifully shaped bare branch, put it in a pot, spray it with glitter paint and you've got one! You just can't be the only kid on the block without one!

The great thread debate.....

It seems there is always a debate about which thread is best for beading. I love, love, love Silamide thread but there are some tricks to threading a needle with it.
1. Never, never put the thread in your mouth. If it gets wet it will frazzle. Hmmm..... is frazzle a word?
2. Put some lip balm on your lips and press them together on the end of the thread. This will flatten the thread and it goes through the needle easier. I use a #10 needle most of the time.
3. Look at your needle. Go through the side of the hole that is the biggest. One side is always bigger.
4. If you are right handed thread the end that is ready. If you are left handed unwind some thread and cut it. Thread the needle with the newly cut end. Since Silamide is a wound thread this will help keep it together. Also when you are beading the natural rotation of your hands will help keep it tightly wound.

Sam's new toy

My friend Jane sent Sam a little stuffed dinosaur for Christmas. He loves it! In fact he loves it so much he put it to bed in my bed one night. He moved the Euro shams to the side, put the dino on my pillow and covered it. That silly dog never ceases to amaze and delight me. Yeah, I know I'm a goofy doggie-mom!

Kindle update....

I promised I'd give a report on how I like using Amazon's Kindle reading machine. I haven't posted about this because I've been busy reading! I LOVE IT! It was hard to use at first and I missed having a real book in my hands. Now I wonder why I didn't order one when they first came out. In the past when I've traveled I have taken four or five books. Now I can take just the Kindle and have tons of books at my fingertips. The Kindle is lighter than even a paperback book. When I go to sleep while reading I normally drop my book and have trouble finding my page. The Kindle goes to sleep when you stop reading so you can go back to the right page with no problem. I bookmark pages fairly just in case I hit the wrong button and lose my place. Another plus is the books are half price even on the new releases. There are now over 200,000 titles available. When you buy a book it is sent wireless to your Kindle in less than 60 seconds. Amazon is supposed to have a new version out very soon. This one will be even lighter.

Help me please....

I'm being held captive by a football fan. HELP! I sat through the Rose Parade, then the bowl game in Orlando and now the Rose Bowl is on. Will the bowl games never end? How many more will they have today? The sound of the crowds yelling is ringing in my ears.
Thank goodness I have an evil plan for getting even with Coop. I talked him into going with me to the Tucson shows. He he he he (insert manical giggling here.) I'll going to drag him to every darned show and make him walk up and down every aisle. If he whines I'll reming him of this day and all the games I listened to.
