So, this is spring?????

It certainly doesn't look like spring in Santa Fe. We woke up to find about 6 or 7" of snow on the ground and more is predicted. I thought I was in some sort of time warp! I took this photo with my cell phone so it's not the best photo. It's probably on the list of the Top 10 Bad Photos for 2009!

This is my studio - Coop's office - my office - guest house - bead storage facility. It's a little house we rent. The best thing about the house is it's located about 20 feet from my back door!

BeadFest Santa Fe

I had a grand time at BeadFest! My good friend Bonnie Brooks from Dallas stayed at our house. We shopped. We ate. We shopped. We ate. It was so wonderful seeing old friends again. We visited with Nikia Angel and Betcey Ventralla at Betcey's booth. Oh, those crystals!!! The first familiar face I saw was that of Maggie Meister. Maggie was with us on two BeadVenture trips to Ireland. Maggie's jewelry is fabulous! Judy Ramsey, Mary Tafoya and Sarah Frazier were there. Frieda Bates was there but I couldn't find her. Wahhhhhhhhhhh.

Some highlights of the show for me: * I peeked in on Susan Lenart Kazmer's Rings Relics and Prong Settings class. Mary was there pounding metal into fabulously funky rings. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I wish I had signed up for this class! * Lisa Kan Designs had a set of wonderful precision tools.* Wild Things Beads had fabulous black spinel bicone beads. And yes, I bought a strand. OK, so I bought TWO strands.* Softflex had beautiful CZ rondells. I wish I could have bought all of them. One of the prettiest things at the show was their packges of three colors of a new wire. The colors were delicious. * Old friends and beads, beads everywhere! What more could a person want?

Irish blessing

I sent a newsletter yesterday and included a traditional Irish blessing. I received an e-mail from a reader with a blessing. I love this one!!!

May the light always find you on a dreary day;
When you need to be home, may you find your way;
May you always have the courage to take a chance
And never find frogs in your underpants.

Beading like crazy.....

I've been beading like crazy the past two weeks. I needed some new jewelry to wear to BeadFest Santa Fe next week! There's nothing like a deadline to get my bead needle flying. So far I think I'm pleased with one necklace. The jury is out on the second one. Sigh. I'd post a photo of the necklace if I could find my light tent. Yes, I'm still searching for it. I finally ordered a new one which should be here this week. You know what that means, don't you? Yes, I'll find the old one as soon as the new one arrives! Anyone want to buy a slightly used light tent? Low mileage - used twice and has remained hidden for months.
